Click Rings
System overview

The Omedos Organiser, is an innovative tool which enables existing Blister Packs to be used in a different way. Tamperproof Click Rings allow the pharmacist to dispense MIXED medication into a 28 Day blister pack. Record cards may be included within the pack for access by Health Care professionals wherever the patient is located.

Located in base prior to loading with medication and locked to form a tamperproof unit.

This tool is used to close the Click Rings by firm downward pressure from the palm.

These are re-usable and available as standard for MTS, NPA & Venalink blisters.

An essential tool used to anchor the click rings during closure to prevent the peg snapping off.

The Basics

Record cards, contents lists, PILs and special data capture cards may be included within the unit.

Why Change ?

Re-useable Cassettes, the champions of mixed medication, are now being replaced by Blister Packs for Hygiene and Health & Safety reasons. They can also ONLY be used in 7 day packs.

Single Med

However Blisters are also used as 7 day packs when filled with mixed medication which defies reason when scripts are issued for 28 days. Blisters are used in 28 day packs in Care Homes where they are found with a huge waste of blisters with a SINGLE medication in each pack. It could be argued that repacking of 28 day patient dispensing packs into SINGLE MED blisters is a waste of time and money.

Mixed Med
7 Day packs
versus
28 Day packs

Conversion to 28 day Mixed Medication using the Omedos Click Rings uses on average around 2 blisters per patient per month, representing a significant contribution to our ‘green’ society. Medication Administration Records (MARs) can be included within the pack to ease Compliance and provide a base for Health Professional communication. PMR generated PILs may be customised and included within the unit. With automated and Hub based systems, this provides a very efficient way of ensuring that statutory requirement are fulfilled.
